Golf Business Australia strengthens support for golf tour operators by joining IAGTO

Golf Tour Operator Insurance Scheme

Australian golf insurance specialist strengthens support for the nation’s growing golf tourism sector through dedicated Golf Tour Operator Insurance Scheme.

Golf Business Australia (GBA), Australia’s leading provider of insurance solutions exclusively for the golf industry, is pleased to announce that it has joined IAGTO - The Global Golf Tourism Organisation, further strengthening its commitment to supporting the growth and professionalism of Australia’s golf tourism sector.

By joining IAGTO this recognises GBA’s ongoing investment in developing specialist insurance solutions for golf tour operators, highlighted by the success of its Golf Tour Operator Insurance Scheme (GTOIS) - a comprehensive insurance solution designed specifically to cover Australian golf tour operators.

With golf tourism continuing to expand both domestically and internationally, GTOIS provides operators with a tailored insurance solution addressing the unique risks associated with organising and delivering golf travel experiences, including tours, packages, international travel arrangements, and associated operational exposures.

Golf Business Australia Managing Director, Daniel Bateup, said the partnership with IAGTO represents an important milestone for both GBA and the Australian golf tourism industry.

Golf tour operators play a critical role in connecting golfers with destinations, experiences and communities across Australia and around the world. However, the complexity of arranging golf travel requires an insurance solution that understands the specific challenges operators face.”

Our Golf Tour Operator Insurance Scheme was developed to provide a comprehensive, end-to-end solution that delivers meaningful protection while remaining commercially competitive in both coverage and premium. By joining IAGTO as a Service Provider member is recognition of the value this solution provides to the industry.

Unlike traditional travel or business insurance products, GTOIS has been specifically designed around the needs of golf tour operators, combining relevant liability protections with tailored options to address the operational realities of managing golf travel businesses.

Becoming an IAGTO Service Provider member, provides GBA with the opportunity to further collaborate with golf tourism businesses, destinations, and industry partners globally while continuing to advocate for improved risk management and insurance solutions within the sector.

Bateup added:

Golf tourism is an important contributor to the broader golf economy, and we are excited to work alongside IAGTO and its members to support operators with specialist advice, competitive insurance solutions and the confidence that comes from knowing their risks are properly protected.

Founded in 2016, Golf Business Australia has established itself as Australia’s specialist insurance partner for the golf industry, providing tailored solutions for golf clubs, courses, retailers, manufacturers, golf technology businesses, tour operators and other golf-related organisations nationwide.
